8 BUFFALO NICKEL BUTTONS

Description

A bit of a departure from our usual fair but we couldn’t resist when we found these in an old sewing basket.   An attractive  group of 8 buttons each fashioned from an original buffalo nickel pressed so as to be convex with a loop fastener.  Three are Indian head and five are buffalo side out.  The classic American
buffalo nickel
was minted between 1913 and 1938 and remains a favorite among Americana enthusiasts.
